THE OAK

Like at other assembly sites, there are records of the existence of an Oak in Gerediaga. With the construction of the Durango-Eibar road (1789), the tree, located near the road embankment, disappeared some years later. The present-day tree grew in Gerediaga, recovered from a small wood that perhaps originated from the acorns of the old oak.
